AT&T Earnings: 442,000 Tablet And 4.1 Million iPhone Activations In Q4 2010

Telecommunications company AT & T announced its quarterly results, reporting consolidated sales of 31.4 billion, up 2.1 percent or $ 653 million in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Here are some things that caught my attention:

AT & T reports 9.9 per cent growth in wireless revenues, up 9.6 per cent of revenues for wireless services. In fact, the fourth quarter was the first quarter in company history in which revenues exceeded revenues by wireless LAN.

AT & T has experienced a solid quarter tablet, which he refers to "a new growth area for the company."

The telecommunications giant said it has added a total of 442,000 tablets Android IPAD and its network, and said that more than 7.4 million postpaid integrated devices were sold in Q4 2010, including 4.1 million iPhone activations.

In case you had not heard, it was last quarter AT & T as the exclusive carrier of iPhone handsets in the U.S. - Verizon Wireless will begin selling the device next month - it will be interesting to see how things evolve from here.

AT & T reports it has seen 27.4 percent growth in sales of wireless data, up 1.1 billion from the fourth quarter of 2009, through the mail, the Internet access, application access and more.

The company recorded a net total wireless subscribers from 2.8 million to $ 95.5 million in service.

For the year 2010 compared to 2009 results, AT & T's consolidated revenues amounted to 124.3 billion against $ 122.5 billion.
