Wow Gingerbread coming to HTC Incredible S, Desire HD, Desire Z and Desire

Looks like HTC will be good on their promise to get Ginger at the HTC Incredible S after we saw the device at MWC 2011 without gingerbread. I must admit, we were concerned why they would not have the latest Android OS on such a fine machine. HTC promise it will not be long and it will take a few months, four to be exact we see Android 2.3 to the Incredible S.

To add to the work insanity, the HTC Desire family will be Ginger about the same time, which is awesome for those who have an original Desire and thought that with all these new devices coming out, why would they bother with little old me and my Desire. Well, they bother with all of them. Nice job HTC.

Nexus S 2.3.3 go update and changes your screen color slightly

There's been a bit of buzz online about the new Nexus S Android 2.3.3 update to the color on the skerm'n little "different" than it was before the update. Google's Row Guy informed us that it works and affects the color is meant to Nexus S put together, so it was expected. With your new OTA completed, you can make a slight difference in the way that colors on your Nexus S. For Nexus S show this, we adjusted the color temperature settings to more accurately reflect the dark

colors at all brightness levels. The Gingerbread UI is darker, we found that the colors were not as accurate as the device is used at lower brightness levels. For example, some users reported that the initial color temperature was too high leading to a dark gray with a reddish tone, with the new color temperature that is no longer the case.

Engadget and updated their Google Nexus S and found that the work did in fact change the color. Whether intended or not, still leaves some upset about the changes, as many Nexus S users their dissatisfaction on forums and reported it. Here's a good look at the changes Android 2.3.2, 2.3.3 to what Engadget is happy with the work. I have said so well, it looks like an improvement overall. have a look below.

App to sd CARD Eclair Xperia X10

connect many who asked for an article on installing applications to the SD card. and I know given the way ..... tips from friends I have managed to installl to the SD card ... just ....

For those who do not know what it is app2sd (application to sd card) which means that the application would have been stored to the sd card automatically and of course save the internal memory resources X10 agan.

What are the benefits?
The advantage is that ...

* X10 agan so more smoothy, because the internal memory resources only focus for the OS and system files only, so the performance of the Android OS is faster and lighter.

* X10 agan have a swap file is specified (LINUX), which aims to improve and help the performance of RAM (384 MB RAM X10)

* X10 agan have some sort of balancing method, which means that if the files in the application load, the other partition will replace. And it also helps the course of an app so much smoother (without fear even though sdcard SDHC Class 2)

Attention!
The risk is huge if something goes wrong borne own risk, not by gw yaw ......

* SD card agan jd crash, partition became corrupted, agan must automatically reset to correct partition.

* Error inject via adb shell script can also result in HP dead, and require you to eclair and me re-rooting X10 agan.

* No risk of fatal to HP so badly damaged in hardware, if there is damage to the software, simply re-flashing and re-rooting

That's a natural ane first tried it .. but ane like, so ane bs evaluation where my mistakes and grow understand

And of course the end result ... very satisfied! Honestly, recommended for those who want to feel a HP smoothy without the slightest lag and unused cm internal memory of 465 MB 170 MB (36%) for the default system application HP sajs Whereas before in-app2sd around (70%) in the HP ane .. number of 123 applications installed apps. Yes most big size 20 MB Google Earth. Calculated happen .. 327 MB. And 170 MB it will continue like that .. even though we install and install more applications.

Preparation:
Download the following files and install on your PC:

* Partition Wizards Home Edition

* Android SDK (using such tools adb)

And the following files in the download to be installed on your mobile phone:

* Busybox (at market)

* Donate TitaniumBackup Version

Steps:
Use Partition Wizards to partition the sd card agan (but before, make sure all the contents of the backup on sd card company agan agan)
Partitionnya division must correctly and in sequence, can not reverse order:

* FAT32 (primary)
FAT32, at least 2 GB, and the maximum is not determined.

* Ext2 (primary)
ext2 minimum of 1.4 GB, and a maximum of 2 GB only.

* Swapfile (primary)
swapfile 2 / 3 times the size of RAM. So 3 / 2 * 384 MB = 576 MB.

Okay, how to partition sd card:

* Make sure the HP agan connected via usb and the usb mode in the circumstances, alias sd cardnya can be read from windows explorer.

* Make sure all the contents of the X10 agan sd card, both show and hidden full backup on my hard drive PC / laptop agan.

* Make sure that you partition the sd card, not the drive or hard disk agan

* Delete the partition on the sd card agan, with a click right from the software "Partition Wizards Home Edition (PWHE)"> delete.

* Partisilah one by one until the division is completed according to the instructions of each partition size and MUST be sequential. Follow this way for the details.

Preparation of HP X10 agan:

* Make sure X10 is installed busybox agan and TitaniumBackup Donate Version and have a full backup with a batch of all content files X10 app + sys agan.

* Make sure X10 is running busybox app agan dr X10 agan, and then select OK to install until the status is displayed so HP X10 agan.

App2sd installation steps 2.1 to HP X10 Eclair agan:
Download and Extrack app2sd2.1.zip to the sd card that has been partitioned before. DO NOT in a folder, make sure the place is empty at the sd card.
Ok, now run adb tools via the Android SDK and of course, HP is already connected to the usb in a state of perfect debugging mode
And the following command:
Click start> run> cmd and move (cd - change directory) to the Android SDK tools folder.
If you already .. type in the following quote:

If it should appear like this article

Select 0 and press enter. Then wait until the process is completed, it takes about 6-10 minutes and it also depends much on the internal memory app agan .. because at the moment ..
app2sd who had been assigned to replace the path in the ext2 partition on the internal memory to a path now ext2 partition on the sd card. And all the app on ext2 internal memory has been cut into ext2 sd card. So so long

Wait and wait till finished .. .. just ignore the message if there is denied, error, etc. .. just wait until HP restart itself.

Google Android??What this is??

In July 2005, Google acquired Android, a startup based in Palo Alto Small, CA. Android co-founders who went to work at Google included Andy Rubin (co-founder of Danger), Rich Miner (co-founder of Wildfire), Nick Sears (once Vice President at T-Mobile), and Chris White (the One of the first engineers at WebTV). At the time, little was known about the functions of Android other than they made software for mobile phones. This began rumors that Google was planning to enter the market of mobile telephony, but it was not clear at what function they could play in this market.

At Google, the team led by Rubin, has developed a Linux-based mobile OS which they were responsible for marketing the handset and the carriers on the principle of providing a flexible and scalable. It was reported that Google had already lined up a series of hardware and software partners and signaled to carriers that it was open to varying degrees of cooperation from them.

In November 2007, Google announced the introduction of the Android platform and the Open Handset Alliance, a group of hardware, software and telecommunications companies that agreed to participate in the development and distribution platform as Android.

AT&T Earnings: 442,000 Tablet And 4.1 Million iPhone Activations In Q4 2010

Telecommunications company AT & T announced its quarterly results, reporting consolidated sales of 31.4 billion, up 2.1 percent or $ 653 million in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Here are some things that caught my attention:

AT & T reports 9.9 per cent growth in wireless revenues, up 9.6 per cent of revenues for wireless services. In fact, the fourth quarter was the first quarter in company history in which revenues exceeded revenues by wireless LAN.

AT & T has experienced a solid quarter tablet, which he refers to "a new growth area for the company."

The telecommunications giant said it has added a total of 442,000 tablets Android IPAD and its network, and said that more than 7.4 million postpaid integrated devices were sold in Q4 2010, including 4.1 million iPhone activations.

In case you had not heard, it was last quarter AT & T as the exclusive carrier of iPhone handsets in the U.S. - Verizon Wireless will begin selling the device next month - it will be interesting to see how things evolve from here.

AT & T reports it has seen 27.4 percent growth in sales of wireless data, up 1.1 billion from the fourth quarter of 2009, through the mail, the Internet access, application access and more.

The company recorded a net total wireless subscribers from 2.8 million to $ 95.5 million in service.

For the year 2010 compared to 2009 results, AT & T's consolidated revenues amounted to 124.3 billion against $ 122.5 billion.

In the meantime, the market share Apple would clock out at 30%, up slightly from 2009.

In the words of Noah Elkin, eMarketer senior analyst and author of a forthcoming report on mobile devices:

"With a growing list of manufacturing partners and support in all major markets and market segments, scale for Android is fast in terms of device market share, applications and advertising revenues.

For InMobi, Apple And Android Are Eating Up Global Mobile Ad Share

Global mobile ad Inmoba made a big effort to gain share ad text. Back in June, it announced a $ 2 million promotion for Apple and developers of mobile applications for Android serve mobile ads. In October 2010, it served up 5.8 billion ad impressions on smartphones, according to a report just released (embedded below).
This represents 24 percent of global advertising impressions served Inmoba overall. In 90 days it has increased its overall ad impressions worldwide $ 3.7 billion, up 18 percent. The ad impressions were divided 40 percent in the United States and 60 percent globally. Nokia is still the largest with a share of 19 percent, but Apple iOS (16 percent) and Android (4.2 percent) combined are greater. And the share of Nokia fell 6.6 points over 90 days, while Apple rose 6.0 points. Now, the iPhone commands the largest share of ad impressions (13 percent) of a single device.

Honeycomb will be get better before lastest

An hour ago, Ina Fried has mobilized over posted that Google is preparing to host an event next week to show the latest version of Android, dubbed "Honeycomb" a little more. Indeed, an invitation has just landed in our inbox.

The invitation reads as follows:

Android Market Webstore. It’s Already Live!

Today, at their headquarters in Mountain View, Google held a demonstration to show the honeycomb, the latest version of the operating system Android. After a few demos of the OS itself, Android engineering director Chris Yerga on stage to show a great one: the Android Market Webstore. Yep, the market has hit the web. Finally. And it is already live. Find it here.

Note that until Yerga know, the only way to find and install applications was through the market on your phone. But now, users can simply go to their browser. And it is more homogeneous than something like the iTunes native application, because when you select an application, it can be set up to automatically download your Android device. "There is no son, no synchronization with computers. None of this kind of nonsense. Everything is connected," said Yerga.

There is also a social aspect as users can send links to the market to another. And you can easily share links to applications on Twitter.

The new Web version of the market also has better filters to find applications. And there's a nice device and application manager.

Update: As many have pointed out in comments and on Twitter, while the market itself is live, you can not connect. I just tried that - no luck. So it's more like live-ish.

Update 2: And now, the market seems to be to live fully. You can register and view your application downloads, and manage your account.

Review Application Pulse on Android Honeycomb

Today, during their event unveiled Android honeycomb, Google took a little time on stage to mention a single application: Pulse. The new social software reading began as a project iPad, but has since found a home at ease on a wide range of devices, including Android. And now they are ready to fully embrace Android tablets with Honeycomb.

Co-founder Akshay Kothari notes that they worked "very closely " with Google to create the latest version of their application optimized for the bees. And although it will not be until later this month (presumably when the honeycomb is also currently available on devices such as Motorola Xoom), Kothari has sent us some screenshots of what it look. Find them here. For now, you can find here Pulse for Android in the new store's online marketplace.

First, here is the selector widget honeycomb:

Gartner Forecasts Mobile App Store

What is the size of a company are mobile application? In a new report, research firm Gartner expects the global mobile App Store revenues will triple from $ 5.2 billion last year to $ 15 billion in 2011, and continue to grow as the sum astronomical 58 billion by 2014. Like any forecast of a hyper market, you can be sure it will change in six months, and others to get the most speculation.
(Remember, less than a year ago nobody was even able to predict how iPads would be sold this year). But here's a prediction you can count on: you'll hear these numbers thrown around a lot all year until a better prediction is long.

Gartner forecasts down advertising revenues and paid downloads (including purchases in-app), as you can see from the chart above. paid downloads and other Direct Market, Nokia Ovi Store Research In Motion World Access, Microsoft and Samsung Marketplace Apps) buying up the majority of expected revenue, but mobile advertising is expected to grow much over time in a multi-billion dollar market.

These estimates include all mobile application stores, not just from Apple (such as e. However, Gartner estimates that Apple's App Store accounted for 90 percent of the 8.2 billion estimated total downloads the last year (both free and paid), and will continue to dominate. In 2011, Gartner estimated total downloads App Store will reach 17.7 billion, with 81 percent of those who are free. The revenue projections include the portion retained by Apple stores and other applications.

Honeycomb will be The First Shot Fired Along Apple’s Bow

Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb means that Google is now officially at war with Apple. The lines are drawn. The pages selected. This will get nasty, but there need not be a clear winner for consumers to win.

Apple iPad stood alone in 2010, while Google was about to finish Android for slate form factor. If this were a race, would IPAD be
miles ahead, while Android was still
pack carbs. But it's not a race. It's a fictitious war, and while Google may be a bit behind in both market share and consumer awareness, it is never too late to introduce a new, larger platform as Android 3.0.

But how can the future Honeycomb devices - Motorola Xoom and LG G-Slate - stand strong against rather than the current IPAD, but the upcoming second generation?

Will Android beat iPad in terms of hardware? Sure. The iPad dev cycle lasts one year, while there will be hundreds of Android Tabs in the next few months. Too bad the hardware is irrelevant to this kind of platform war. All will use similar processors and similar memory technologies. Screenshots will not be much different among these entities, however much people like Pixel Qi wants to change.

IPAD Ruled the 2010th Not a single tablet could stand up to its feature set or general appeal. Only Samsung Galaxy Losses sold in significant numbers, but it is still not clear how many they sold in the first place. To be fair, was the current release Android never really intended to slate form factor, but manufacturers like Dell and Samsung pressed on, determined to put something up against the rebellious iPad. Both hit the market with an anticlimactic thud and spotted Android name.

2011 will be different. Android 3.0 is a decent tablet OS, designed from the outset to be a tablet interface. Things are going to get interesting from here.

Former Android tablets were sold at hardware specs alone. It was like computer Mad libs: "Oh, nice, the [tablet name] built on [mobile platform] and comes with a [size in inches]-inch screen." The iPad be sold on capabilities thanks to Apple's vertical ecosystem. "Oh, nice, you can play [game app] will use [productivity app] or enjoy content from [streaming app]." The two ideas - the specs vs apps argument - will converge.
Honeycomb change this and bring Android tablet for almost the same level as the IPAD with a robust backup in feature set. Everything from completely redesigned UI with live multitasking mulitple tool bars and a host of new apps are different from IOS. It is by far the most dramatic update since launch Android platform and in many ways, it looks and acts totally different than anything currently on the market.

While Android Market got a new set whitewash. The new web version packs features that enable developers to better promote and describe their wares just like iTunes. Web version even allows users to buy apps online, which will then automatically download to your phone or tablet.

As the tablets will take popularity crown from IPAD? Well, it's hard to say.

Look at Motorola Xoom. It rocks a 10.1-inch 16:10 screen, a 3G modem that is later upgraded to 4G, a 5MP camera and a fantastic house. LG G-Slate is more of the same except the sports 3D cameras and a 2 Tegra platform, which is able to support 1080p capture and playback. But none of this should matter in the long run.

These are pricey tablets and tablet for Android to be a hit like the iPad, the volitilty normally associated with Android needs to subside, and the tablets should just work as advertised. Looking forward to future hardware profiles are fine, but to build a platform around what's currently available install confidence. When people buy IPAD or iPhone really, the functions that the device is built around a power functions working as it should. Android's trademark, "Wait till next version, it is when it gets an Apple killer."

The iPad 2 will undoubtedly right some of the original's mistakes. There are said to be an SD card slot, a larger and therefore functional speaker, and maybe even a thinner bezel.

The second generation of Android tablets are solving the many problems with the software suite: built-tablet apps, improved user interaction and a code base designed for tablet hardware platforms.

Again, none of this really matters. Android vs. IOS is a stupid fight, fought only on fan sites and forums. Google and Apple are working constantly to bring the best they can to consumers. Both look at each other's products and compare competitors against their own work. Sometimes features make it to the other products. Sometimes they do not, but they're both being phenomenal products, regardless of who shoots where.

IMHO, Imo Is Brings A New Design And An Exit From Alpha

It was almost exactly two years ago, my colleague Robin Wauters first wrote about a service called Imo titled: IMO.IM Is The Best IM Web Services Thou Äôve never heard of. I Äôll be honest, I did AOT listen to him at the time (though to be fair, I did aot even work at TechCrunch yet). He followed up a few months later when the service added Facebook chat support. But since then, they fell kind from our radar. So that AOS time tonight to give them some more love because the service is really pretty big, AI, and after three years in alpha, they Aore finally dropping that label.

The idea is super simple: Imo is an IM client that allows you to log into many different types of IM accounts at once, all managed through their service. Of course there are many services like this out there. But the key to Imo is that what AOS quick and easy to use. I mean really easy. All you do is enter your username and passwords for different services, and you Aore out and run in a way that AOS is very smooth.

And those Äôve just launched a complete redesign of their web experience. It actually makes the service even easier to use. Now Imo online sort of resembles a blank canvas just waiting to be filled with chats. Chats that you can drag and drop to place anywhere in your window in your browser. And like the new version of Gmail was launched today, can Imo.im send you desktop notifications of new chat. And like their mobile clients, you can now send instant messages, voice messages of up to 30 seconds in length as well (another feature that has fascinated me recently).

, At AOS the second key to Imo.im: their large mobile clients. Whether you have an iPhone, iPad or Android device, Imo offers a neat and simple way to connect with all your different IM services. Below find a demo of IPAD app in action.

Although it may seem a little odd that the service has been up and running for three years and is now losing alpha label, you remember that one of the co-founders are Imo Georges Harik, one of the first 10 employees at Google. He AOS learned well.

Skype Rival Viber Hits 10M Downloads, Poised To Release Android App (Video)

VIBER,which debuted its free calling service for iPhone back in December, says 10 million people have already downloaded its mobile app (iTunes link). Pretty impressive feat when you consider the service is currently IOS-only and the milestone was reached in less than two months.

But as mobile crunch found out last week, plovers ready to hit the Android platform in March. Consider that confirmed when we can only show you a video of the app in action:

With the app, will Android users could make free calls to both Android and iPhone users, which would make a lot of waves with the launch. Users will still be able to call cell numbers directly without having to register a username and add friends to a contact list, and make and receive calls over 3G or WiFi, free. Quite a convincing proposal.

Next big move: free sms messages. Can not wait for that one (should land this month).

PicPlz Pretties Up Android App And Begins Accepting (Beta) API Applications

Last week, we noticed that the mobile photo-sharing app PicPlz rolled out a lot of improvements in their app in an effort to better compete with rival Instagram. Unfortunately, the new Polish was just for their iPhone app at the time. But today brings good news for Android fans: the same features! And there's a bonus: PicPlz is now accepting applications for access to their API.

PicPlz has more about the new capabilities for Android users here. Here are the main core of this update:

* Live thumbnail of the image with different filters.
* Fixed rare crash on sign up
* Fixed problem with notification, not clearing from the status bar
* Camera view is no longer being the brightness to 100%
* Fixed issue with camera is not properly detecting the flash mode on start-up
* Other misc bug fixes

They promise even more speed improvements in the next iteration. Android version is key for them because it is a way they are quite different from Instagram - still iPhone-only.

API, meanwhile, is another way they can potentially be distinguished - at least a bit. Interested parties are invited to join PicPlz API beta here.

Instagram caused a bit of a stink when they drew the third-party access to their data for a few weeks ago. It was not meant as a hostile act, just they want developers to wait to use their data until they have a decent API that can scale. "We are testing it internally and with selected partners at this time," they tell us.

The race is on.

Tango Takes Face-To-Face Video Calling

One of the best built-in iPhone 4 FaceTime is the video call feature that lets you see who you're talking about using cameras on both phones. But it only works on WiFi and if both callers have an iPhone 4. Perhaps these limitations are the reason for an application called Tango is the seventh most popular social networking application at this time (iTunes link).

Tango allows you to make video calls not only on the iPhone, but also on Android phones, and works on 3G data as well. Works on both 4 and iPhone 3G, and even iPod touch. It 'grew like crazy on both IOS and Android, the addition of one million downloads every two weeks. Over the past three months, has grown from about 1 million downloads in 8 million euro (see table. Of these, 7.2 million registered users has become, and 42 percent (approximately 3 million euro) made a video call over the last 30 days.

Tango has provided us with some other statistics on its use and growth as well. About 2.6 million people have downloaded the application following a direct invitation, with 45 percent of the calls resulting download. The average length of a video call is 4 minutes. The downloads are divided equally between IOS and Android, and 60 percent of calls over 3G or 4G data network instead of WiFi. (What you are listening to Apple / AT & T / Verizon?) Although the United States is the biggest country single for the tango, the majority of members (55 percent) live outside the United States and half of the first 10 countries (South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore) are in Asia.

Tawkon Debuts Limited Edition Of Cellphone Radiation App For Nexus S

When you buy a new smartphone, the first thing you look at what the specific absorption rate (SAR) is the device you are interesting in spending cash? Neither do I, but some health organizations, we must be alert to mobile phone radiation.

Rather than trying to convince people to stop using their smartphones for phone calls (not happen), tawkon Israeli startup has developed applications that let people minimize exposure to radiation cell phone while continuing to use their mobile phones.

In essence, tawkon monitor and analyze the radiation of mobile phone using proprietary technology that allows you to "talk up" as usual and receive instructions to avoid radiation when you really need. According to the company, the levels of radiation emitted by mobile phones may vary considerably during a call, due to a number of dynamic factors.

Tawkon alerts users when these levels of radiation crossing a predefined threshold, and offers suggestions to reduce exposure, based on environmental factors in real time and use.

Apple decided to reject the application somewhat controversial - for whatever reason - and has not communicated with the launch of several months. The company has applications for BlackBerry devices, and has recently launched a new version of Android-compatible.

Now, the company is releasing a "limited edition" beta version specifically designed for Nexus S (which, in case you're still with us, has a SAR of more than 50 percent lower than the Nexus, his predecessor).

His timing is impeccable - starting next month, the city of San Francisco phone order right to know (PDF) enters into force, requiring retailers to disclose specific absorption rate values for mobile phones.

ANDROID AND IPHONE GO TO WAR

I love the company asking if the calendar of events is entirely coincidental or on purpose. Not only are they almost always say it's a coincidence, but often try to claim that it has not even the creation of a competitor was also to do something when they made their plans. Sure.

Next week will feature another such situation. Earlier this week, News Corp. and Apple has sent invites to a press event to unveil the new iPad-only application, the newspaper said. And then this evening we have just received an invitation to an event to Google to show the latest version of Android, a honeycomb. The meaning of tablets. And guess what? I am the same day.

Certainly, the events are on different sides of the country (although the word is that News Corp. / Apple had originally wanted to host them in the Bay area too). As such, the event iPad will be slightly earlier than the event Android (8 AM 10 AM PT versus PT). This does not matter. The key is that controlling the news that day will be crucial for both parties. And Android is locked, simply press the iPad.

The events are timed and located in such a way that would have been absolutely impossible for a journalist with the calls for each event go to both. And while Google has been kind enough to host a live stream on YouTube (which News Corp. / Apple will almost certainly do not), it is still a pain to cover both extensively. You basically have to choose.

Normally, it would be all iPad next Wednesday. It is now likely to be more Android-controlled study. And do not think there is nothing in the fact that Google is displaying a "taste" of Android just before the iPad 2 is scheduled to be unveiled.

War.

We’ll See An Android Version Of The Daily
